Whipped Cottage Cheese with Hot Honey Halloumi

This share plate is guaranteed to be a crowd-pleaser! Golden halloumi, perfectly caramelised in a sweet and spicy hot honey marinade, is paired with a creamy, zesty base featuring Brancourts Classic Cottage Cheese. Whether you're dishing it up as a high protein snack or a share plate for family and friends, this recipe is sure to have everyone reaching for seconds (and maybe thirds!).

Method

In a large mixing bowl, combine all the cottage cheese ingredients. Use a handheld blender or electric whisk to blend until the mixture is smooth and fluffy. Set aside.

Heat olive oil in a small skillet over medium-high heat. Slice the halloumi into pieces approximately 3 cm thick. Add the slices to the heated pan and cook for 6–7 minutes on each side, or until they are golden brown and crispy.

In a small bowl or pouring dish, mix the honey, ground chilli and chilli flakes. Stir well.

Pour half of the hot honey mixture over the halloumi while it cooks, ensuring each piece is well-coated and caramelised.

On a large serving plate, spread the whipped cottage cheese mixture evenly. Layer the cooked halloumi slices on top and sprinkle generously with crushed pistachios. Drizzle the remaining hot honey over the dish. Serve immediately with crusty bread for dipping and scooping.

230g smooth feta

1/2 cup Brancourts Classic Cottage Cheese

1/4 cup lemon juice

3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

Sea salt & pepper, to taste

Honey Halloumi

2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil

180g organic halloumi

1/3 cup raw honey

1/2 teaspoon chilli ground

1/2 teaspoon chilli flakes

1/4 cup pistachios, finely chopped

1 baguette, sliced & toasted
